After an effective performance by the bowlers, Kusal Mendis scored an unbeaten 68 off 43 balls as Sri Lanka won by nine wickets with five overs remaining in the T20 World Cup Super 12 match against Ireland. Sri Lanka achieved the target of 129 to win by losing one wicket in just 15 overs .
Kusal Mendis was declared player of the match . Earlier, Tikshna got 19 and Hasaranga 2-2 wickets for 25 runs . After winning the toss and batting, Ireland managed to score 128 runs for eight wickets with the help of Tucare's 45 . Sterling scored 34 runs .
Kusal Mendis scored an aggressive unbeaten half-century in Sri Lanka's reply . He hit five fours and three sixes . Dhananjaya was out for 31 runs . While Asalanka was not out for 31 runs .
