The British media has made a big revelation related to the ongoing Football World Cup in Qatar. According to the report, it has been said that the help of the Taliban has been taken in the construction of the stadium where the World Cup matches are being held in Qatar. The Taliban have also earned millions of dollars in exchange for these stadiums. Several senior Taliban leaders involved in the peace talks have been paid large sums of money in return for providing machinery to prepare the infrastructure for the tournament.
A large section of the Taliban leadership remained in Doha, the capital of Qatar. These leaders were living here since 2013. He was the leader who was responsible for driving and carrying through the peace negotiations with the US and the United Nations (UN).
According to the report, the Telegraph wrote that some Taliban members had 6 to 10 pieces of heavy machinery and charged more than 10,000 pounds for each piece of machinery. Information received from two Taliban sources revealed how these officials were given lucrative allowances during the peace talks so that they could stay in Doha. It is believed that the Qatari authorities paid the members present in the Taliban office after US and UN approval.
Every month these officers were given an allowance of thousands of pounds. These allowances were being given under the ongoing peace talks with the Western countries.
The officials who went on tour were given facilities like expensive SUV, free healthcare. Along with this, daily food was also provided free of charge. According to the Telegraph, the amount was initially being paid in cash. But later it started being transferred directly to the bank accounts of Taliban officials. Thus, it became difficult for the US and Qatar to trace how and where the money was being spent. Qatar claims that the monthly payments are being closely monitored by the US.
