Doha, dated 20
France suffered a major blow before the start of the FIFA Football World Cup. Karim Benzema, the top star of the defending champions and winner of the Ballon d'Or award as the best footballer this year, was ruled out of the World Cup due to an injury.
France coach Didier Deschamps announced the decision not to call anyone as a replacement for Benzema immediately. However, a decision can be taken about this after some time. France's attacking line has weakened in Benzema's absence.
Benzema arrived in Qatar with the France squad and suffered a hamstring injury before the opening of the World Cup. Earlier, a day before the French team left for Qatar, a French player was also ruled out of the practice session due to an injury.
Meanwhile, Australia's Martin Boyle was ruled out of the World Cup due to a knee injury. Australian coach Graham Arnold said that the absence of a player like Boyle will be problematic for us. We replaced him with Marco Tilio in the squad.
