Ravi Shastri fumed over coach Dravid's break in NZ series, Ashwin says 'send everyone to rest'

New delhi date. 19 November 2022, Saturday

Head coach Rahul Dravid has been rested after the loss in the semi-final match of T20 World Cup 2022. Dravid was reprimanded by former coach Ravi Shastri after he was rested from the New Zealand tour. Now Indian veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has responded to Shastri's rebuke.

Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said that not only him but also the support staff along with other players need rest.

Ravi Shastri at a press conference said, "I don't believe in breaks. I want to understand my team and the players. To be honest, why do you need so many breaks? You get two to three months during the IPL. Isn't that enough?" ?I think a coach should be practical."

Ashwin came to Dravid's rescue

Ashwin said through his YouTube channel, 'I will explain why a whole different team has gone to New Zealand with Laxman. Rahul Dravid and the entire team worked hard before the T20 World Cup. He had a plan against every team. So they are not only mentally but also physically tired and so everyone needs a break. As soon as the New Zealand tour is over, we will travel to Bangladesh. That is why we have a separate coaching staff headed by Laxman.

Importantly, Team India is on a tour of New Zealand. The T20 match was canceled on Friday due to rain. Indian team will play t20 match on Sunday. The ODI series will start from November 25 against New Zealand.
