Maxwell shared his thoughts on this innings. He said, "I didn't know the match was going on. But later I looked at the scorecard, took a screenshot and sent it to Aaron Finch and said, 'What's going on here? He's playing completely different. Look at everyone's scores and this guy's score. Look at 111 runs in 50 balls."
The next best score for India in the 2nd T20I was Ishan Kishan's 36 off 31 balls.
Maxwell said, "I watched the full replay of the innings afterwards and the shame is he was doing so much better than everyone else. It's very difficult to watch him. We don't have anyone close to him. He sweeps against a bowler bowling at 145. He does. He's playing some mind-boggling shots that I've never seen and he's playing those shots with such ease."
The current number one T20 batsman Suryakumar Yadav who is enjoying his top form in international cricket. He was also the third highest run-scorer in the recently concluded T20 World Cup.
Maxwell also spoke about Suryakumar's innings against South Africa during the T20 World Cup. In this match played in Perth, India was defeated by five wickets. With India reeling at 49/5 in 8.3 overs after the departure of the opening batsmen, Suryakumar's 68 off 40 balls put India on the board at a respectable 133/9.
Maxwell said, "The innings he played in Perth was one of the most amazing innings I've ever seen. I batted there a few days before. It's unbelievable, especially for an Indian to bat in those conditions and look so good."
