Ireland's Joshua Little created history in the player auction for IPL 2023. He became the first Irish player to play in the upcoming season of the IPL. Defending champions Gujarat Titans bought Joshua Little in a mini-auction in Kochi on Friday for Rs. 4.40 crore while its base price was Rs. 50 lakhs. In a statement issued by Cricket Ireland, Little said, "I am delighted to be signed by the defending IPL champions Gujarat Titans and I am looking forward to playing in the team under the leadership of Hardik Pandya." I look forward to working with coach Ashish Nehra and thank the management team of Titans for believing in me.

The series against India caught everyone's attention
Little, who worked as a net bowler for Chennai Super Kings in the last season of IPL, said that while playing for Ireland will always be his priority, getting a chance to prove myself in the IPL will allow me to do well at the international level. "To be able to learn and play in the IPL is incredible and thanks to Cricket Ireland for supporting me in this," continued Little. Joshua Little grabbed everyone's attention during the home T20I series against India earlier this year where he took two wickets in three matches. Little was also Ireland's best bowler during the T20 World Cup in Australia, taking 11 wickets in seven matches. He also took a hat-trick against New Zealand in Adelaide. The 23-year-old from Ireland has taken 62 wickets at an overall economy of 7.66 in 53 T20Is played so far.
