Be it IPL or international cricket, it is not only difficult but impossible to break Mahendra Singh Dhoni's mind. A mini-auction was held in Kochi for IPL 2023, in which all-rounder Ben Stokes was bought for a hefty sum on one hand and the mischievous fast bowler on the other hand was brought into the squad at a very cheap price. The surprising thing is that the player who was bought by Dhoni's team Chennai Super Kings for 1 crore was included in their team by Virat Kohli's team for 15 crore last season. Chennai Super Kings have prepared a strong squad for the upcoming season. In the mini-auction, the team with better planning made the players pay one rupee at a time. All-rounder Ben Stokes was bid high for the future captain option, while New Zealand all-rounder Kyle James was included in the squad for just Rs 1 crore to bolster the fast bowling attack.
Dhoni's decision is heavy on Kohli's decision
The player who was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore, a team of superstars like Virat Kohli, for 15 crores a season ago, this time Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team included him in their team for just 1 crore. In the auction held in the year 2021, RCB bought New Zealand all-rounder Kyle Jameson for 15 crores. He decided not to play in the IPL last season due to personal reasons. Returning a year later, its value had plummeted.
