Kapil Dev, captain of the 1983 world winning team, while attending an event in Kolkata said that if the players are getting a chance to play for Team India then they should be proud and if the cricketers are feeling more pressure then who is asking them to play. They can sell bananas and eggs. This is not the first time, Kapil Dev has also spoken about the mental health and workload management of Indian players. Kapil Dev says that when you get a chance to play cricket in a country with a population of 120 crores, the players should be happy.

You should not play cricket
Kapil Dev said I heard we are playing IPL, so there is a lot of pressure on us. The word pressure has become very common. So I would say to such players you should not play cricket. Who asked you to play? There will be both pressure and competition in cricket. If you play at that level, you have to be prepared for praise as well as criticism. If you fear criticism and don't have the ability to handle it, you shouldn't play.

You should be proud of playing for the country
Kapil Dev said that you should be proud of playing for the country. He is getting an opportunity to play for Team India in a country with a population of over 100 crores. The word pressure comes from America. If you don't want to work, don't and go and put up a banana shop, sell eggs who tells you to play. Recently it has been seen that many senior players consider themselves injured and keep themselves away from the national team for the entire year. But as the IPL approaches, they start calling themselves fit.
