In the final of the 111th Australian Open held in Australia, 24-year-old Sabalenka of Belarus defeated Rybakina and won the Grand Slam.
Aryana Sabalenka defeated Elena Rybakina 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the final to win the Australian Open Women's title. This was the 24-year-old Aryana's first major final. In which he won brilliantly. This match lasted for 2:38 hours. Sabalenka has won this Grand Slam title for the first time. The first set did not start well for Sabalenka as she lost the first set. After that, Sabalenka managed to win the match by showing a great game. Sabalenka broke Rybakina's serve three times and had two breaks of her own.
Sabalenka, playing aggressively, turned the game around. He hit 17 aces to clear the double fault. It was her third big serve that Rebakina managed to break. Keeping the lead in the third set, Sabalenka won the Grand Slam. This was Sabalenka's 11th victory since the start of 2023. Sabalenka's fourth win over Rybakina:
Sabalenka and Rybakina faced each other for the fourth time. Earlier, they faced each other in the fourth round of the 2021 Wimbledon Championship. Along with this, they were also against each other in the quarter finals of Abu Dhabi Open 2021 and Wuhan Open 2019. Sabalenka has won three times against Rybaki even before the Australian Open.
