Earlier, Sri Lanka were eliminated from the series
Hours after India won the ODI series against New Zealand yesterday, it was reported that opener Rituraj Gaikwad was injured. Before this he was also out in the Sri Lanka series. Due to his good performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the selectors gave him a place in the team but it is very difficult for him to play in the series against New Zealand. A BCCI official said that Rituraj is currently in the NCA due to a wrist injury. We do not yet know the extent of his injury.
