"Women wrestlers allegedly molested, even threatened by national coaches over the years": Wrestler Vinesh Phogat. A special coach of the federation sexually exploits the women players in the national camp.
Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat said that Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, President of Women Wrestlers, and coaches are sexually harassing in National Campus. Some coaches stationed at national camps have been sexually harassing women wrestlers for years. Many women wrestlers also complained about this. Despite the complaint, no action is taken.
Further, Phogat said that due to mental torture, the idea of suicide also came. If anything happens to any player, the chairman will be responsible.
Bajrang Punia said about this that, we want change in the federation, we have also sought help from the PM. Hopefully, PM Modi will help.
A number of Indian wrestlers, including Olympic medalist Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, World Championship medalist Vinesh Phogat and Anshu Malik, have staged a sit-in at Delhi's Jantar-Mantar in protest against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
These wrestlers are on strike...
The job of the federation is to support the players, take care of their sporting needs. If there is any problem then it has to be diagnosed. But what if the federation creates the problem?
