Navi Mumbai, dt. 22 February 2023, Wednesday

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest rankings of players in the Test format on February 22. The latest rankings of Test bowlers saw a big change as 40-year-old James Anderson took the number one spot. Along with this, James Anderson also broke the 87-year-old record, in which he became the oldest player to achieve the first position in the bowling rankings.

Prior to James Anderson, this record was held by former Australian cricketer Clary Grimment, who became the oldest No. 1 ranked player in 1936. On the other hand, when it comes to the latest ICC rankings, Australian captain Pat Cummins has to bear the brunt of his poor performance against India. Now he has gone from being the number 1 bowler to being the number 3 bowler.

There are three Indian players in the top 5 of the ICC all-rounder rankings. 1 Test all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has become the no., followed by Ravichandran Ashwin at the second position. Akshar Patel, who performed brilliantly in the first 2 matches of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, has now reached the 5th position.
