Sania Mirza's glittering career of 20 years came to a halt. Sania and her American partner Madison Keys were defeated by Russia's Veronika Kudermetova and Lyudmila Samsonova in straight sets 6-4, 6-0 in the first round of the WTA Dubai Duty Free Championship on Tuesday. 36-year-old Sania Mirza became a professional player in 2003.

Sania Mirza won a total of 6 Grand Slams and 43 doubles titles in her career. Meanwhile, Sania also won a huge prize money. According to the Women's Tennis Association website, Sania Mirza's total prize money till 21 February 2023 is more than Rs 60 crore. In the first 2 months of this year, the tennis star has earned more than 16 lakh rupees through prize money.


Sania Mirza, in a recent interview, said that society should embrace differences and avoid portraying someone as a villain or a hero about people who dare to act in their own way.

I don't think I have broken any rules or restrictions. Sania Mirza said about the trend setter, I try to live with honesty. This is what I have always tried. I have tried to be true to myself. I have tried to live life on my own terms.

I think everyone should be able to do this and should have the freedom to do so. No one should say that you are setting a new trend. You are breaking the rules. I may be different to you but that doesn't mean I'm a rebel or breaking any restrictions.
