Saurashtra became Ranji Trophy champions for the fourth time, winning the title for the second time under Undkat's captaincy.

The final match of the Ranji Trophy was played between Bengal and Saurashtra at the historic Eden Garden in Kolkata. Today the Saurashtra team captured the Ranji Trophy by defeating Bengal by 9 wickets. The Saurashtra team became champions in the Ranji Trophy for the fourth time while under the captaincy of Jaydev Undkat managed to win the title for the second time.

Saurashtra captain Jaydev Undakat won the toss and decided to bowl and invited Bengal to bat. The Bengal team surrendered against Undkat's bowling. Bengal team scored 174 runs in the first innings in reply to which Saurashtra team scored 404 runs in the first innings and got a lead of 230 runs. Bengal team scored 241 runs in the second innings to give Saurashtra a target of 12 runs to win which they chased down by one.

The captain was the hero of the raucous victory

Saurashtra team captain Jaydev Undkat was the hero in this match with a total of 9 wickets. He created a sensation by taking 3 wickets in the first innings and 6 wickets in the second innings against Bengal. Under the captaincy of Undkat, the Saurashtra team has become the champion in the Ranji Trophy for the second time. Earlier in the year 2019-20, they became champions in Ranji Trophy. The Saurashtra team under the captaincy of Undkat also became champions in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
