There are some batsmen in IPL who have bowled over the bowlers and proved to be the biggest trump card for their team. These are the five batsmen who hold the record for most runs in the IPL.
1. Virat Kohli
Be it any format of cricket, if Virat Kohli is a part of that league, his name will surely appear in the list of highest run scorers. IPL has always been special for Virat. Kohli single-handedly led Royal Challengers Bangalore to memorable victories in many matches. This is the reason why Virat tops the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs in IPL. Kohli has scored a total of 6,624 runs in 223 matches played so far in this league. Apart from this, Virat has also scored five centuries in IPL.
2. Shikhar Dhawan
This list may not count India's opener Shikhar Dhawan among the most explosive batsmen in this league but Gabbar's name is definitely in this league for scoring runs consistently. Dhawan has scored 6,244 runs in 206 matches played so far in IPL. Shikhar Dhawan holds the record of scoring two consecutive centuries in the IPL league.
3. David Warner
Australian opener David Warner is also included in this list. Warner loves batting on Indian pitches in IPL. Warner has so far scored 5,881 runs in 162 matches played in this league. Warner has also scored four centuries and 54 fifties in the IPL.
4. Rohit Sharma
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has played an important role with the bat in making the team five times champions. The hitman has scored 5,879 runs in 227 matches played so far in this league. When Rohit is in his form, stopping him is not an easy task for any bowler in the world.
5. Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina, popularly known as Mr. IPL, has retired from the IPL while he is not seen on the field but is still the fifth highest run scorer in the league. Raina has scored 5,528 runs in 205 matches played in the history of Indian Premier League.
