The teams batting first have dominated the matches played so far in this season of IPL. In 35 matches the team batting first has won 20 times. In 15 matches of this season, the team that chased the run won the match, while the team that lost the toss won 20 matches. More than 200 runs have been scored in 15 innings in the 16th season of IPL. Only twice in these 35 matches has the team batting first lost the match after scoring more than 200 runs.

Position of the points table

After the victory against Mumbai Indians, the team of Gujarat Titans has jumped to the second position in the points table. Gujarat have won five out of seven matches. Chennai Super Kings have also won five out of seven matches. Chennai is at the top because of good net run rate. Rajasthan, Lucknow, Bangalore and Punjab have eight points each. Rajasthan and Lucknow are third and fourth in the points table due to their good net run rate this season.

Duplessis has an orange cap

Duplessis has scored the most runs in the tournament so far. He has scored 405 runs in seven matches. In the race for the Orange Cap this season, Chennai Super Kings' Devon Conway is second, Delhi Capitals' David Warner is third, Gujarat's Shubman Gill is fourth and Bangalore's Virat Kohli is fifth.

Rashid Khan took the most wickets

Gujarat Titans star spinner Rashid Khan holds the Purple Cap. He has taken the highest 14 wickets in seven matches. In this matter, RCB's Mohammad Siraj is second, Punjab Kings' Arshdeep Singh is third, Rajasthan Royals' Yuzvendra Chahal is fourth and Chennai Super Kings' Tushar Deshpande is fifth.
