IPL 2023: These players entered the race for Orange Cap and Purple Cap, Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan did a great job

Half of the league stage of IPL 2023 has been completed. In IPL, all the teams have to play 14 matches each and out of them 7 matches have been played by all the teams. A total of 70 matches are scheduled to be played in the league phase and 35 matches have already been played. The race for the Orange Cap and Purple Cap of the 16th season of IPL is exciting. There are three foreign and two Indian players in the top 5 in the race for the Orange Cap, while there are four Indians and one foreign player in the top 5 in the race for the Purple Cap.

Faf du Plessis on top in the race for the Orange Cap

Faf du Plessis tops the Orange Cap list for IPL 2023. He has scored 405 runs in 7 innings. At number two is Chennai Super Kings batsman Devon Conway. He has scored 314 runs so far. The third name in this list belongs to Delhi Capitals captain David Warner who has scored 306 runs in this tournament. While Gujarat Titans opening batsman Shubman Gill has reached the fourth number. He scored a fifty against Mumbai and has overtaken Virat with 284 runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore opener Virat Kohli has scored 279 runs so far.

Rashid Khan tops the race for the Purple Cap

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans vice captain Rashid Khan has reached the top in the purple cap list. He took 2 wickets against Mumbai Indians and left Mohammad Siraj behind. Siraj has taken 13 wickets from Bangalore and Rashid has taken 14 wickets from Gujarat. The third name in this list is Arshdeep Singh who has taken 13 wickets for Punjab Kings. Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Tusshar Deshpande have taken 12 wickets each.
