Chennai Super Kings became champions for the fifth time after defeating Gujarat in the IPL. This team, which could not even reach the playoffs in the last season, once again managed to win the title by performing brilliantly. Chennai defeated defending champions Gujarat in the final yesterday. After the match, Dhoni once again won the hearts of cricket lovers by calling the hero of the match Jadeja and the retired Rayudu on stage to receive the trophy.
Dhoni did not go alone to collect the IPL trophy
Ravindra Jadeja hit a six and a four off the last two balls to make Chennai the champions. Also, this match was Ambati Rayudu's last IPL match. Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement from IPL before the final. In this match, Rayudu scored 19 runs in 8 balls while Jadeja returned not out after scoring 15 runs in 6 balls. After the match, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has once again shown why he is different from other cricketers. When Dhoni was called on stage to receive the IPL trophy after winning the Chennai match, he did not arrive alone to receive the trophy. Along with Dhoni, Rayudu and Jadeja came on stage to receive the trophy.

Dhoni beat Jadeja and Rayudu to take the trophy
Dhoni kept Rayudu in the middle with the trophy while he stood on the sidelines with Jadeja. Dhoni has done many things during his captaincy, which later became a trend in the Indian cricket team. He used to give the trophy to the young player as soon as he won the trophy. Dhoni himself once said that cricket is a team game and the captain gets separate footage first, that's why he hands over the trophy to the team because the entire team has won the title together.
The final of IPL was played on Reserve Day
The final match of IPL 2023 was scheduled to be played on May 28. However, it had to be shifted to Reserve Day due to rain. Rain also interrupted the match yesterday. Chennai won the toss and elected to bowl first and Gujarat Titans scored 214 for four in 20 overs. The match had to be stopped in the very first over due to rain during Chennai's innings. When the match started, Chennai were given a target of 171 runs to win in 15 overs. Ravindra Jadeja made Chennai the champions in the last two balls of the match.
