
A soldier is always a soldier and wherever there is a soldier of the Indian Army, the flag of India will fly and the soldier will fight for the honor of the country. Something similar was seen in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. Here, 51-year-old Colonel Jangveer Lamba, a serving officer of the Indian Army, took part in the tough Iron Man Triathlon Asia Pacific Championship on 18 June 2023 and completed it within the stipulated time.

An Ironman triathlon consists of three consecutive events, a 3.8 km open water swim, 180 km cycling and a 42.2 km marathon, to be completed on the same day and in the same order. Sixteen and a half hours was the maximum time limit for competitors to complete the triathlon to earn the title of 'Ironman'. Showing great gallantry and bravery, Colonel Lamba completed the program in 15 hours and 24 minutes.
More than 1500 players participated in the competition
Over 1500 players participated in the event, with Colonel Lamba being the only Indian to compete in what is considered one of the toughest one-day sporting events in the world. The Ironman Triathlon "Asia Pacific Championships" Cairns was one of the flagship events of the 50 Ironman Series triathlons held globally.
Colonel Jangveer Lamba is a professional bodybuilder
Colonel Jangveer Lamba is a fourth generation Indian Army officer hailing from Jaipur and currently posted at ASC Center (South) – 2 ATC, Bengaluru. He also participated and successfully completed the Ironman 70.3 held in Goa in November 2022. He is a professional bodybuilder and a national level bodybuilding judge with the Federation of Indian Bodybuilders.
