Netherlands beat West Indies in Super Over as they score 374 in ODI tie

Netherlands put up a strong fight and scored 374 runs for 9 wickets in the ICC World Cup Qualifier ODI against West Indies and the match ended in a tie. With the Netherlands needing 1 run off the last ball to win, Logan van Beek was dismissed for the ninth wicket. After which he created a sensation by scoring a total of 30 runs in 4,6,4,6,6,4 off Holder's bowling in the Super Over. Finally Van Beek scored the super over from the Netherlands. Charles took a single after hitting a six off the first ball and Hall took a single off the third ball to seal their defeat. After this Van Beek took the wickets of Charles and Shepherd to give the Netherlands a memorable victory in the Super Over.

Pooran's unbeaten 104 off 65 balls

Netherlands won the toss and put West Indies into bat first. Brendan King scored 76 and Charles 54 for an opening partnership of 101 runs in 17.2 overs. Shai Hope scored 47 runs. While Puran scored an unbeaten 104 runs in 65 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes. Kimo Paul created a sensation by scoring an unbeaten 46 off 25 balls. It looked like their victory was going to be easy when Windies posted 374 runs for six wickets.

Indian origin Teja Nidamanuru's 111 runs

Chasing a huge challenge of 375 to win, the Netherlands did not give up. Windies had the match in their grasp until they lost four wickets for 170 runs. However, Indian-origin Teja Nidamanuru stunned everyone by scoring 111 off 76 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes. Captain Scott Edwards scored 67 runs. The pair turned heads by adding 143 runs off 90 balls. With the Netherlands needing 9 runs in the last over, Van Beek took one after hitting a four off the bowling of Joseph. After which Aryan Dutt (16) was out. Now with 4 runs to go in 3 balls, Floyd took a single and van Beek took two to tie the score. However, Van Beek was caught off the last ball. He scored 28 runs in 14 balls. However, after he got out, the Netherlands scored 374 for 9 in 50 overs and the match was tied.

West Indies may be thrown out of the World Cup

This was the second defeat of the West Indies team in this World Cup qualifier. According to the rules of the tournament, they have already qualified for the Super-Six. However, in the Super Sixes there is a rule to carry over points from the first round. Due to this, Windies now have to play only three matches in Super Six. Which is against the team from the rival group. One of the matches will be against Sri Lanka. Now if they fail to qualify for the final, they will be thrown out of the ICC World Cup to be held on Indian soil.
