The first match of the series will be played in Dominica. Rohit Sharma has been given the command of the team, while Ajinkya Rahane has been appointed as the vice-captain of the team. However, veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped from this series.

BCCI today announced Team India for Test and ODI series against West Indies. Rohit Sharma will lead the team in Test and ODI series. Veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped from the Test team. Ajinkya Rahane has been given the responsibility of vice-captain for the Test series. While Hardik Pandya has got the responsibility of vice captain in ODI series.

Apart from this, young batsmen Yashshwi Jaiswal and Rituraj Gaekwad have got a place in the Test team for the first time. Yashaswi Jaiswal was kept as a standby for the World Test Championship final. Along with this, fast bowlers Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini have also been included in the Test team. Mohammad Shami has been rested for the ODI and Test series. Umran Malik and Sanju Samson have also returned to the ODI squad. Opener Rituraj Gaikwad, fast bowler Jaydev Undkat and Mukesh Kumar have also been selected in the ODI squad.
