The Indian cricket team for the Test series and ODI series against West Indies has been announced. Team India is scheduled to play the first match of the 2-match Test series against West Indies from July 12. After the defeat in the final match of the World Test Championship, everyone was hoping for big changes in Team India. Some new players were also included in the team. But former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was furious when Sarfaraz Khan was not given a place.

Sarfaraz Khan has been doing brilliantly in the last few Ranji seasons. But he could not do anything special in the 16th season of IPL.

Sunil Gavaskar giving his statement on not selecting Sarfaraz said that now the players should stop playing Ranji Trophy.

Sunil Gavaskar in his statement said that Sarfaraz Khan has been scoring runs at an average of around 100 in the last 3 Ranji seasons. What does a player have to do to earn a place in the team more than this? Even though he may not be part of the playing 11, you must include him in the squad.

Gavaskar further said, you need to give credit to his performance. Otherwise, Ranji Trophy should be stopped. Say, its no use, you just play IPL and think you are good enough for red ball game too.

Sunil Gavaskar further added, "Against the West Indies, the selectors should have given more opportunities to the younger players. The senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, who have been playing consistently at the moment, should have been rested. The time to give a chance has been lost.”

Gavaskar, on the other hand, questioned the non-inclusion of Pujara in the Test squad, saying "Pujara has been made a scapegoat. Other batsmen have also played badly but Pujara had to be sacrificed."

Test Team: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Rituraj Gaikwad, Virat Kohli, Yashshwi Jaiswal, Ajinkya Rahane (vc), KS Bharat (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Akshar Patel , Mohammad Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jaydev Undkat, Navdeep Saini.
