The second match of the three-match ODI series between India and West Indies will be played today at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The first match of this series was also played on this ground. In that match, India defeated the West Indies team by 5 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. However, the Indian team will make some changes in the second match.
Surya failed in ODI cricket!
India may make two changes to its playing XI in the second ODI. Explosive wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson may be included in the team in place of Suryakumar Yadav in this match. Suryakumar Yadav has got back-to-back chances in ODI cricket and is yet to make an impression. He has been a consistent flop and has not even scored 500 runs in more than 20 matches. He had a good chance in the first ODI but Suryakumar could not do anything special and was dismissed for 19 runs.
Better stats than Sanju's Surya
On the other hand, Sanju Samson has performed brilliantly whenever he has got the opportunity. He has scored 330 runs in 11 ODIs at an average of 66 and a strike rate of 104.76. Surya may be ahead of Samson in T20 cricket, but Samson's stats in ODI cricket are much better than him.
Spinners may get a chance
Apart from this, looking at the pitch, India can field with an additional spin bowler in this match. Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur, Mukesh Kumar and Umran Malik took charge of the Indian pace attack in the absence of Mohammad Siraj in the first ODI. In this case, instead of Umran or Mukesh, Akshar Patel or Yuzvendra Chahal can be included in the playing 11 in this match.
Possible Playing of Both Teams 11
