The first Indian pair to win the Korea Open, Satwik-Chirag defeated the world No. 1 pair

The pair of Indian badminton star Satvik Sairaj and Chirag Shetty have won the Korea Open title. The pair of Chirag-Satwik defeated the Indonesian pair of World No. 1 Fajr Alfian and Mohammad Rian by a margin of 17-21, 21-13, 21-14. This final match lasted for 62 minutes. Prior to this final, the record was tied at 2-2 against the Indonesian pair.

First Indian pair to win the title

PV Sindhu won the women's singles title in the year 2017. She became the first Indian shuttler to win the Korea Open title. Satvik Sai Raj and Chirag Shetty have now won the men's doubles title after him. The pair became the first doubles pair to win the doubles event title.

Defeated the defending champion Chinese duo in the semi-finals

The pair of Satwik-Chirag defeated defending champions Wei Cang Liang-Chung Wang of China in the semi-finals. They defeated the Japanese pair of Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi in the quarterfinals, the Chinese pair of He Ji Ting and Zhou Hao Dong in the round of 16, and the Thai pair of Supak Jomkoh-Kitinupong Kedren in the round of 32.

Satwik-Chirag duo won third title in a row

Satwik and Chirag have won the Indonesia Super 1000 and Swiss Open Super 500 titles this year. It was the second consecutive title for the Indian pair after winning their last tournament, the Indonesia Open, in June. This is his third BWF 500 title. Before this, he won Thailand Open in 2019 and India Open last year.
