To qualify for the finals of the World Championships in Athletics, a javelin throw of at least 83 meters is required or to be the top athlete in that group. Neeraj cleared over 83 meters in his first attempt and made it to the final. Except Neeraj, no athlete could throw 83 meters in the first attempt.
