Neeraj Chopra enters World Athletics Championship final, qualifies for Paris Olympics


India's star athlete Neeraj Chopra made it to the final with a javelin throw of 88.77 meters in his first attempt at the World Athletics Championships. DP Manu is also in Group A along with Neeraj, while Kishore Jena is the only Indian in Group B. Along with this, Neeraj Chopra has also qualified for the Paris Olympics.

Qualified for the Paris Olympics

Along with this, Neeraj Chopra has also qualified for the Paris Olympics by throwing the javelin over 85 meters in the World Athletics Championship. A minimum of 85.50m is required to qualify for the Paris Olympics and Neeraj threw the javelin 88.77m in his first attempt. Not only that, he has also reached the top of the table. To qualify for the finals of the World Championships in Athletics, a javelin throw of at least 83 meters is required or to be the top athlete in that group. Neeraj cleared over 83 meters in his first attempt and made it to the final. Except Neeraj, no athlete could throw 83 meters in the first attempt.

He was out of form in the Lausanne Diamond League since his return from injury, but managed to get a lot of distance on his first throw in the competition. He has made it to the finals of the championship and the Olympics on the basis of a single throw.
