Also in the 3000m steeplechase, Brunei's Winfred Mutile Yawi won the gold medal, finishing the race with a time of 8 minutes 54.29 seconds. Apart from this, Kenya's Beatrice Chepkoch finished the race in 8 minutes 58.98 seconds and won the silver. Apart from this, another athlete from Kenya, Faith Chorotich, was successful in winning the bronze medal. Chorochit clocked a personal best of 9 minutes 00.69 and won the bronze medal.

Parul started well, then slowed down
On the other hand, Parul's 3000m steeplechase saw her in great rhythm till 200m and held the number one position, but gradually lost her momentum and ended up in 11th place.
