World Cup Record IND vs AUS : The fifth match of the ODI World Cup 2023 will be played tomorrow between India and Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Australia has become world champion 5 times while India has become world champion twice. Talking about the record of the World Cup, Australia has a huge gap against India. A total of 12 matches have been played between India and Australia in the World Cup so far. Out of which India has managed to win only 4 matches. On the other hand, the Australian team has managed to win 8 matches. The last World Cup match between the two teams was played at the Oval in 2019. India won this match by 36 runs. With the help of Shikhar Dhawan's 117 runs, Virat Kohli's 82 runs and Rohit Sharma's 57 runs, India made a huge score of 352 runs in the first innings. In reply, the Australian team could score only 316 runs. India will be tested against the five-time ODI World Cup champions tomorrow.

Only two batsmen have scored centuries against Australia

The 13th season of the World Cup is currently being played, but in the last 12 seasons, only two Indian batsmen have managed to score a century against the Australian team. Former Indian batsman Ajay Jadeja scored the first century for India against Australia in the ODI World Cup in 1999. Shikhar Dhawan did this feat after 10 years i.e. in the year 2019. In the year 2019, the World Cup was played in England and Dhawan scored a century against Australia.

Most centuries in the name of Sachin and Rohit

Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma hold the record for most hundreds scored by India in the ODI World Cup. Both the batsmen have scored 6 centuries each in the World Cup. But these two batsmen did not succeed in scoring a century against Australia. Apart from this, Indian team's session batsman Virat Kohli also failed to score a century against Australia. This will be Virat's fourth World Cup but he is yet to score a century against Australia. Now in tomorrow's match, Rohit will have a chance to break Sachin Tendulkar's record.
