IND vs AUS 3rd T20I : The 3rd T20I between India and Australia was played at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Australia defeated India by 5 wickets in this high scoring match which lasted till the last ball. Although the Australian team won this match, the young brigade playing under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav broke a world record of the Australian team.
India broke Australia's world record
Batting first, India set a target of 223 runs against Australia. Along with this, the Indian team has become the team that has scored more than 200 runs against a single country in T20I matches (India Most Times Scored 200+ Runs Against A Team). Indian team has scored more than 200 runs 6 times against Australia. While the Australian team has scored more than 200 runs 5 times in T20Is against New Zealand.
Gaikwad and Maxwell's century
Opener Rituraj Gaikwad from India scored his maiden T20I century in 52 balls in the first innings. He scored an unbeaten 123 off 57 balls. During this he hit 13 fours and 7 sixes. With the help of Rituraj's smashing 123 runs, the Indian team made a huge score of 222 runs against Australia. But due to Maxwell's explosive batting, the Australian team won the match by 5 wickets. Maxwell scored 104 runs in 48 balls with the help of 8 fours and 8 sixes.
