Rituraj Gaikwad scored his maiden century in T20Is. However, there was an unwanted record in his name. After KL Rahul, Rituraj became the only batsman who could not score a maiden century in T20Is and IPL. Ruturaj had earlier played a knockout innings of 101 runs against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 for CSK. But CSK had to face defeat in that match.

He scored his first T20I century against West Indies. In a match played against West Indies in the year 2016, KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 110 runs. But India lost that match by 1 run.
