Ahead of Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma among the highest run-scorers in the World Test Championship

India's two senior players Rohit and Virat are setting new records day by day. The records of most runs, most centuries and most fours-sixes are being taken away from each other. However, now in the World Test Championship which started in 2019, Kohli has the record of most runs from India so far.
Two WTC finals have been played so far. The next final will be played in 2025 and all the teams are working hard for it. The top two teams in the points table get a chance to play the finals. The Indian team has played the final match of both the seasons. Two veteran current captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have contributed greatly to this success of Team India. Both the veterans are also among the top-15 highest run-scorers in the World Test Championship (2019-25*).
In the Boxing Day Test against South Africa at Centurion, Rohit scored just five runs while Virat played an innings of 38 runs. With this innings, Virat moved to the 10th position among the highest run-scorers in the WTC and surpassed Rohit for India. Virat now has 2101 runs at an average of 38.90 in 57 innings from 35 Tests in the Test Championship, including four centuries and nine fifties. Captain Rohit is at the 11th position and has scored 2097 runs in 42 innings of 26 Tests. His average is 52.42 with seven centuries and six fifties. After Virat-Rohit, other Indians include Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane in this list. Pujara has scored 1769 runs in 62 innings (16th position) and Rahane has scored 1589 runs in 49 innings (20th position).
England's Joe Root tops the list of the highest run-scorers in the World Test Championship. He has scored 3987 runs at an average of 50.46 in 86 innings of 47 Tests, including 12 centuries and 16 fifties. Australia's Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith are second and third. Labusche has scored 3660 runs in 71 innings with 11 centuries and 16 fifties at an average of 55.45, while Smith has scored 3223 runs in 67 innings at an average of 52.83. Smith has scored nine centuries and 15 fifties since 2019.

India lost in Test against Africa:
Talking about the Test between India and South Africa, after losing the toss and batting first, India scored 208 runs for the loss of eight wickets at the end of the first day's play. On the first day, play had to be stopped due to rain and only 59 overs could be played. Yashshwi Jaiswal scored 17 runs, captain Rohit Sharma scored 5 runs, Shubman Gill scored 2 runs, Virat Kohli scored 38 runs, Shreyas Iyer scored 31 runs, Ravichandran Ashwin scored 8 runs, Shardul Thakur scored 24 runs and Jasprit Bumrah scored 1 run. KL Rahul scored a century in the second day's play and the Indian team was all out for 245 runs. As the news goes to the second day's play, Africa's score is 3 for 169 on the strength of Elgar's century. Bumrah took 2 wickets and Siraj took the first wicket.
