Mrinank Singh Dupe Rishabh Pant : Many people may know about the gangster Sukesh Chandrasekhar who is currently in Delhi's Mandoli Jail. The latest fraud case is related to a former IPL cricketer who defrauded five star hotels and Indian team cricketer Rishabh Pant of crores. Mrinak's deception did not last long and he was caught by the police on 25th December. Accused Mrinak Singh, a resident of Faridabad in Haryana, was part of the state cricket team at the under-19 level. He also claims to be a part of an IPL team.

Presented himself as an IPL franchise player

Accused Mrinak had cheated several luxury hotel owners across the country by posing as a senior IPS officer. Indian team wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant is also allegedly among the victims of his fraud. The accused impersonated a senior IPS officer to defraud various five-star hotels and resorts. Police said he posed as a player of an IPL franchise and also cheated women with his stardom.

Dead Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has also been cheated. He had cheated Rs 1.63 crore with Pant in the year 2020-21. According to sources, Mrinak lured Pant to get luxury watches at cheap prices. Because of this, Pant's manager also lodged a complaint. Before defrauding Pant, Mrinak described himself as a luxury watches, bags and jewelery businessman who sells his luxury items at cheap prices. To win Pant's trust, he told many lies and said that he had sold these items to other cricketers at a discount rate as well.

Called himself an ambassador of an international sports brand

Mrinak described himself as an ambassador of an international sports brand and also limed sports-related showrooms. Mrinak also claimed that he has close relations with many Indian cricketers. A complaint was lodged at the Chanakyapuri police station on August 22, 2022 by the security director of a five-star hotel in central Delhi. A senior police officer said that the complaint alleged that Mrinak claimed to be a cricketer and stayed at the hotel from July 22 to 29, 2022 and absconded without paying the bill of Rs 5,53,362. When a hotel official asked to pay the bill, he said that his sponsor company would pay the bill. The hotel then gave him the bank details, but the QR number sent by the accused for an online transaction of Rs 2 lakh was fake. The hotel then contacted Mrinak and his manager Gagan Singh.

A case was registered at Chanakyapuri police station

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Ravikant Kumar said Mrinak told the hotel that he was sending his driver with cash but none came. They were contacted several times for payment of the outstanding amount but they made false promises and provided false information to the hotel each time. A case was then registered in Chanakyapuri police station. During the investigation notices were sent to his address but the deceased was not found at that address.

He also tried to influence the investigating officers by posing as an IPS officer

The police further said that his mobile phone was switched off and most of his conversations were on social media. His acquaintances were saying that he has settled in Dubai. A non-bailable warrant was subsequently issued against him and a lookout circular was issued. The deceased was caught at Delhi's Indira Gandhi Airport on Monday. He was trying to get to Hong Kong. While in police custody, he also tried to influence the investigating officers by impersonating a senior IPS officer.

Mrinak was kept in police custody for 2 days

During the interrogation, Mrinak Singh revealed that he had defrauded many luxury hotels of millions of rupees by pretending to be an IPL cricketer. According to the police, the investigation of his mobile revealed that many people had become victims of his fraud. Mrinak has been kept in police custody for 2 days. Police said he was also involved in three fraud cases in Mumbai, Haryana and Punjab.
