Afghanistan Cricket Board Bans 3 Players : Afghanistan Cricket Board yesterday took a big decision and banned three of its players Mujeeb ur Rehman, Fazal Haq Farooqui and Naveen Ul Haq from playing franchise cricket. The three players have been banned for prioritizing their personal interests over playing for Afghanistan.
Difficult to participate in IPL 2024 too
The Afghanistan Cricket Board has also suspended the central contact of these three players and has also refused to give NOC to these players to play in the T20 league for the next 2 years. Apart from this, the NOC given to these players to play the upcoming tournament has also been cancelled. In such a situation, it seems difficult for them to participate in IPL 2024 as well. According to a statement from the Afghanistan Cricket Board, the three players recently informed the board of their desire to be freed from the annual central contact starting January 1, 2024, and also sought consent to play in the franchise tournament. The board was upset with this decision of the players and took a strict decision regarding this.
The reason for not signing the Central Contract was the Commercial League
Afghanistan Cricket Board in its statement said, 'The reason for not signing central contracts for these players was to play in the commercial league. who prioritized his personal interests over playing for Afghanistan, which is considered a national responsibility. The Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided to take disciplinary action against these players. Afghanistan Cricket Board's decision is in line with ACB's core values and principles, focusing on national priorities. This shows the need for every player to uphold the principles of the ACB and prioritize the interests of the country above their personal interests.'
These three franchises can get a big blow in the IPL
In the recently held IPL auction, Kolkata Knight Riders included Mujeeb Ur Rehman in their squad, while Naveen Ul Haq Lucknow Super Giants and Fazal Haq Farooqui are part of Sunrisers Hyderabad squad. If the ban imposed on these three players is not lifted, these three franchises may suffer a major blow.
