While the world's top cricket teams are currently busy with Test matches, some players are currently busy with franchise cricket. Currently India vs England Test series of 5 matches is going on in India and on the other hand Australia is playing Test against Windies at home. While the matches between New Zealand and Pakistan have just finished, the venue for the final of the WTC, also known as the Test World Championship, has been decided.
The final matches of the WTC will be held in this country
The list of ICC events for the next four years has been announced. The schedule of all ICC events to be held between the years 2024-2027 has been announced with India to host two ICC World Cups. The ICC has given England the responsibility of hosting the next two World Test Championship finals. Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy next year in February.
India lost in both finals
There have been two editions of the World Test Championship and the third edition is currently being played. Both the finals of the World Test Championship 2021 and 2023 were played only in England.
The Indian team had to face defeat against New Zealand in the first edition and against Australia in the second edition. Team India is the only team to have played in two World Test Championship finals.
Australia's team number one in the points table
The Australian team is at the first position in the current points table of the World Test Championship. The team's winning percentage is 61.11. The Indian team is second, with a winning percentage of 54.16. South Africa is third, New Zealand fourth and Bangladesh fifth. The winning percentage of these three teams is 50.
