AUS vs NZ 1st Test : In the first match of the two-match Test series between Australia and New Zealand, Australia registered a big win against New Zealand. Chasing a big target of 369 runs given by Australia, the New Zealand team was bundled out for just 196 runs in the second innings. Australian spinner Nathan Lyon created a stir in the match by taking 10 wickets. After scoring 383 runs in the first innings, the Australian team could score only 164 runs in the second innings.
No spinner has taken 10 wickets since 2006
Nathan Lyon has become the first spinner to take 10 wickets on New Zealand soil since 2006. This is the first time since 2006 that a spinner has taken 10 wickets in a single Test match on New Zealand soil. Earlier in December 2006, New Zealand's Daniel Vettori took 10 wickets against Sri Lanka. Muttiah Muralitharan also took 10 wickets in the same match.
New Zealand lost at home against Australia after 8 years
The New Zealand team had to face a crushing defeat in the first Test at home against Australia. After winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, Cameron Green played an unbeaten innings of 174 runs and gave Australia a strong hold in the match. The team scored 383 runs in the first innings. Nathan Lyon took 4 wickets and broke the back of New Zealand's batting. With the help of Glenn Phillips' 71 runs, the New Zealand team reached 179 runs. Australia's huge lead of 204 runs in the first innings put the Kiwi team on the back foot.

He took a total of 6 wickets by giving away 65 runs in 27 overs while bowling. In the first innings, Lyon took 4 wickets for 43 runs in 8.1 overs. This experienced spinner who took 10 wickets in both the innings made the team win the match.
