Match-Fixing In Kolkata Cricket League: Once again the specter of fixing has been extinguished in Indian cricket. Former Indian cricketer Srivats Goswami created a stir when he posted a video on social media. He has been accused of match fixing in first class league cricket in Kolkata. Ganguly has also called for a report on this.
Srivats Goswami shared the video and made this allegation
Sharing two videos on his social media platform Facebook, Srivats Goswami wrote that the batsmen are deliberately losing their wickets to give points to the other team. Taking note of this, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president has called a meeting of its first-class league's tournament committee today to discuss the match-fixing allegations of Srivatsa Goswami. Goswami alleged that Mohammedan Sporting's batsmen were deliberately losing their wickets to give the Town club seven points.
I think this is a wakeup call for cricket: Goswami
Sharing two videos in his Facebook post, Goswami wrote, 'This is a super division match in Kolkata club cricket, two big teams are doing it, anyone have any idea what is happening here? I am ashamed that I played the game that is so close to my heart. I love cricket and I love playing in Bengal, but it breaks my heart to see this. Club cricket is the heart and soul of Bengal cricket, please don't spoil it. I think this is a wakeup call for cricket.'
Snehashish Ganguly also called for the report of the umpires
Incidentally CAB joint secretary Devbrat Das is associated with the town club. He has not yet given any reaction in this matter. While CAB chairman Snehashish Ganguly, giving information about the tournament committee meeting, said that the report of the umpires has also been sought. Town Club scored 446 runs with the help of Shakib Habib Gandhi's 223 runs, in reply to which Mohammedan Sporting could only score 281 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
