Paris, Dt
International tennis has stalled due to the Corona epidemic. The Wimbledon Grand Slam has been canceled this year. Meanwhile, the organizers of the French Open have postponed the second Grand Slam tournament of the season to be played on Red Clay and announced to start from September 20. The final Grand Slam of the season, the US Open, runs from August 21 to September 15.
Now, if the US Open is played according to the scheduled schedule despite the Covid-15 epidemic, the French Open will start one week after its completion. Top tennis stars were outraged when the show was announced. Now the French Tennis Federation has announced that it is currently in contact with the organizers of the US Open and will take a final decision only after discussions with them.
Earlier, the French Tennis Federation had held talks with ATP, WTA, ITF and other concerned officials. The dates of the French Open have not yet been officially announced and they are likely to move to the French Open in late September or early October.
The good news for the organizers of the US Open, meanwhile, is that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has confirmed his support for playing in this prestigious tennis tournament. The tennis season has been suspended and is now expected to open in August.
