The Indian Cricket Board's high-profile league - the title sponsor of the IPL - is Chinese and the BCCI cannot break its contract with it at this stage. However, Kings XI Punjab owner Ness Wadia has advised the BCCI to part ways with the Chinese sponsor for the sake of the country. Country comes first, then money and most importantly, this is the Indian Premier League, not the Chinese Premier League. The BCCI should take the lead in this matter and set an example.
"It is true that it is not easy to get immediate sponsors, but I am confident that there are many sponsors in the country who can take its place," Wadia said. We must have respect for the soldiers who risk their lives for the country, for the government and most of all for us.
Fifty Indian soldiers were killed in a violent clash with China in the Galvan Valley. After which the Indian government banned 3 Chinese apps. Wadia has made his stand clear. However other franchises are not prepared to say anything in public about this. The media report quoted sources in Chennai as saying that whatever the government decides is true. Sources in the other team also issued a statement asking the government to take a decision.
"If I am the president of the BCCI, let me find a new sponsor for next season," Wadia said. Don't wait for the government's decision in the current difficult time. It also becomes our moral responsibility.
