Legendary West Indies batsman Everton Weeks has died at the age of eight. They have scored 2.3 runs in 8 Tests at an average of 7.31. He was part of a trio of West Indies batsmen known as the 'Three Ws' in world cricket. Accompanying him on the list were Frank Worrell and Clyde Walcott. Who had previously died.
Weeks' death sent shockwaves through the international cricket community. He was mourned by dignitaries including India's legendary superstar batsman Sachin Tendulkar. He was a highly respected coach, analyst, team manager and match referee. He was also inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
He started his international career at the age of 9 with the Kensington Oval Test against England. When he played the last match of his career in Trinidad a decade later. They set a world record by scoring a century in five consecutive innings in 19. He scored 171 runs in the Jamaica Test against England. After which he scored 18, 19, 19 and 101 runs in India tour respectively. They were run out for 20 in the next sixth innings.
Weeks had previously died in Worrell 18 and Walcott in 2006. With the departure of Weeks, there are no more batsmen from 'Three Ws'.
