In T20 cricket, the offensive game has to be shown from the beginning of the match, but in the final overs, the batsman's aggressive batting becomes more intense. The same thing can be seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The last five overs (death overs) of the innings are counted and the batsmen are seen scoring runs. The bowlers are terrorized in these overs. There are two batsmen in the history of IPL who are becoming extremely dangerous in death overs. Here are two batsmen to talk about.
Kieron Pollard:
As soon as this West Indies batsman comes to the crease, the bowlers and the rival team come on the backfoot. In the IPL, Pollard has batted many times, but in the death overs, he has become more aggressive.
For the Mumbai Indians, Pollard's record in the last five overs shows how aggressive he is. Pollard has played 913 balls in the last five overs and scored 1555 runs. During this period, he has hit 99 sixes, 105 fours and his strike rate is 178.71.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni:
Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the king of death overs. Dhoni is the most dangerous batsman in the last five overs. Here he has also left Pollard behind. Dhoni is the only batsman in the IPL to reach a total of over 2000 runs in the last five overs. He has scored a total of 4431 runs in the IPL out of which 2647 runs he has scored only in the last five overs. For this he has played only 1482 balls i.e. his strike rate is 190.50. He has hit 187 sixes and 153 fours.
