Australian cricketer Shane Watts has also announced his retirement from the IPL following the poor performance of the Chennai Super Kings in the current IPL.
"The decision to retire is very difficult but I will try to implement it. I am thankful to everyone for making my dream of playing in the IPL come true," Watts tweeted.
Watson has already said goodbye to international cricket in 2018 and will not be seen on the field again as he announces his retirement from the IPL. Before joining Chennai in 2018, Watson has also played for Rajasthan Royals and Bangalore. Chennai won the final.
Watson has played 145 matches in the IPL and has played 43 matches for Chennai. However, the series has been disappointing for Watson this time.
However, Watson could be a part of Chennai's support staff in the future, as Watson has a good tuning in with Chennai captain Dhoni.
