Brazil's 22-year-old Alison dos Santos won the men's 400m hurdles race, turning bronze from the Tokyo Olympics into gold at the World Championships. Allison set a new South American record with a time of 46.29 seconds to create a stir at the ongoing World Championships in Eugene. While Roy Benjamin, son of former Windies cricketer Winston Benjamin, won a silver medal in the 400m hurdles race. He clocked 46.89 seconds. Notably , Rae Benjamin also won a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics.
American Trevor Bassitt got the bronze medal with a time of 47.39 seconds. While Norway's Kirsten Warholm, who won the gold medal with a brilliant performance in the Tokyo Olympics, finished seventh in the final of 8 players with a disappointing performance. Significantly , Warholm himself won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics with a new world record of 45.94 seconds. However, he could not repeat his brilliant performance in Eugene.

Jack Whitman beat the Olympic champion in the 1,500m race
Great Britain's Jack Wightman won the gold medal in the 1,500 meters by defeating the Olympic champion Jacob Ingebrigtsen of Norway . Whitman won gold with a time of 3 minutes and 29.23 seconds. While Ingebrigtsen was 0.24 seconds behind him and became entitled to silver. Spain's Mohamed Katir (3:29.90) got bronze.
Kristin Chase of Slovenia wins discus throw gold
Slovenia's Christine Chase shocked everyone by winning the gold medal in the discus throw event with a throw of 71.13 meters. Christine finished fifth at the Tokyo Olympics. While Lithuania's Mykolas Elekna won silver with a throw of 69.27 meters and Andreas Giudzius of Lithuania won the bronze medal with a throw of 67.55 meters. While Olympic champion and defending world champion Daniel Stahl of Sweden stood fourth with a throw of 67.10 meters.
Australia's Patterson champion in women's high jump
Eleanor Patterson of Australia won the gold medal in the women's high jump event by clearing a height of 2.02 meters. He had a career best performance. While Ukraine's Yaroslava Mahuchikh failed to clear this height in her first attempt. After which he crossed this height in the second attempt. Thus , he was awarded a silver medal due to technical reasons. Italy's Ilena Vallortigara (2m) was awarded the bronze medal.
