Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson shared a 176-run partnership for the second wicket in the second T20 International against Ireland on Tuesday. Together in this partnership the two broke a big world record. The two now hold the world record for the highest partnership for the second wicket in T20 Internationals. Earlier, the record was held by England's Jose Butler and David Malan. Butler and Malan had an unbroken 167-run partnership for the second wicket against South Africa in 2020. Hooda and Sams have also been left behind by a pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in a special case.

The record for most wickets for any wicket for India in T20 Internationals was held by Rohit and KL Rahul before this match. Together they scored 165 runs against Sri Lanka in 2017. Hooda and Samson now hold the record for most partnerships for any wicket from India. Hooda scored 104 while Samson played an innings of 77 runs. Based on which India scored 225 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.

In reply, Ireland managed 221 for 5 in 20 overs and India won the match by 4 runs. In this way, India swept the 2 match series 2-0. Deepak scored an unbeaten 47 off 29 balls in the first match, earning him both the Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards. Hooda is only the fourth batsman to score a century in a T20 International for India. Before him, only Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have been able to do this.
