However, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar does not agree that players should take a break from international matches by complaining about the workload. Many times he has openly said that if you really want to manage the workload then don't play in the IPL. Relax but don't excuse yourself from national duty. In this way, Sunil Gavaskar started a discussion about resting fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the Ranchi Test against England by Rohit Sharma and Co. Gavaskar gave a statement about Rohit Sharma's bold decision Gavaskar also opened up about India's decision not to use Bumrah in the deciding match of the Test series against England. Rajasthan Royals owners slapped me after getting out for zero : Former NZ captain

- Ross Taylor made many revelations about IPL in his autobiography

New delhi date. 13 August 2022, Saturday

Former New Zealand captain Ross Taylor has made some revelations about the Indian Premier League. He has revealed a strange incident that happened with Rajasthan Royals during his tenure in the IPL. Taylor said that in the year 2011, he was playing with Rajasthan Royals. He stayed with the franchise for a year and in fact failed to make much of an impact with his batting. He scored 181 runs at a strike rate of 119 in 12 matches for Rajasthan. During this time his maximum score was 47 not out.

Rajasthan Royals released him after just one season. He then joined Delhi Capitals. An incident happened to Taylor during his stay with the Royals which he has mentioned in his book 'Ross Taylor: Black and White'.

He revealed in his autobiography that during a match against Kings XI Punjab, he was slapped 3-4 by the team's co-owner for getting out for 0 runs. Taylor spoke about the difficulties a player faces in an IPL team. He said that he was more stunned by this incident than slapping.

Taylor said, Rajasthan played against Kings XI Punjab at Maholi. I was LBW for a duck. We didn't even come close to winning this match. Then the team, support staff and management were twelve on the top floor of the hotel. There was Liz Hurley with Shane Warne. One of the owners of the Royals told me, 'Ross, we didn't pay you $1 million to get out on a duck' and he slapped me 3-4 times across the face.

But I'm not sure it was just play-acting, Taylor continued. I wasn't going to make an issue of it under those circumstances but I can't imagine it happening in a professional sports environment. He said, 'If you go to a new team, you don't get that support. You never feel comfortable because you know that going 2 or 3 games without scoring puts you in cold storage.'
