Former captain Dilip Tirki in the race to become the president of Hockey India

Former Indian Hockey Team   Captain Dilip Tirki has entered the race to become the president of Hockey India. Hockey India elections are coming up and on the last day of nominations, Dilip Tirki filed his candidacy to become the president. Notably , Tirki is associated with Odisha's BJD.

After filing his candidature, Tirki said that hockey has given me a lot. As a player I played at the international level and was involved with the development of hockey even after retirement. Now, if I am involved in the hockey association, I can play my role better.

Expressing the confidence of winning the election, Tirki added that I am in talks with many states. Northeast is with me. Bengal , Assam , Mizoram , Arunachal Pradesh , Tripura are with me. Kerala , Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan have also responded positively.

The 44-year-old Tirki was part of the Indian hockey team for a long time as a full back. Is. He was also part of the team that won gold and silver in Bangkok in 1998 and Busan Asian Games in 2012 respectively. Apart from this, he was also part of the gold winning team in Asia Cup 2003 and 2007.
