Germany defeated France in Davis Cup after 84 years

Germany has won the Davis Cup tennis for the first time since 1938, i.e. after 84 years, against France. Germany's victory was assured as Kevin Kravetz and Tim Puetz won the deciding doubles.
Germany took a victorious 2-1 lead as Kraivetz and Puetz defeated France's Nicolas Mahut and Arthur Rinderknecht 6-2 , 3-6, 7-1. In Group C , Germany started with the first tie.
In the other tie of the same group, Australia defeated Belgium. There are four groups in the Davis Cup. In which the top two teams will play in the knock out stage to be held in Malaga from November 22 to 27.
Germany had lost to France eight times previously in the David Cup over 84 years.
Germany captain Michael Kohlmann said after the victory that every time we face France, we remember with a kind of stigma that we have not won for so many years, but now this burden is off us and I feel happy with a kind of lightness.
Even though a player like Zverev withdrew due to injury at the last minute from Germany, Struff, who was sent to play singles in his place, gave Germany a 1-0 lead and defeated France's Bonzi 6-4 , 2-6 , 7-5.
However, in the second singles, France won the match. Adrien Mannarino of France defeated Oscar Ott 6-4 , 6-3 and the tie reached the deciding doubles. In which Germany won.
German doubles specialist Puetz said that our pair is ranked at the top of the world. There is a lot of understanding and rapport between us. We are good friends off the court as well which makes our game even better.
