Image: File Photo Sunil Gavaskar on Jasprit Bumrah : Workload management has long been a major issue for the Indian cricket team. However, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar does not agree that players should take a break from international matches by complaining about the workload. Many times he has openly said that if you really want to manage the workload then don't play in the IPL. Relax but don't excuse yourself from national duty. In this way, Sunil Gavaskar started a discussion about resting fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the Ranchi Test against England by Rohit Sharma and Co. Gavaskar gave a statement about Rohit Sharma's bold decision Gavaskar also opened up about India's decision not to use Bumrah in the deciding match of the Test series against England. Gavaskar said, “After bowling just 15 overs in the first innings of the third Test in Rajkot and then 8 overs in the second innings, Bumrah was rested for Ranchi probably on the recommendation of the trainer.

Decision not to include Shami in the team beyond understanding: Madan Lal

New Delhi , dated 13

Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal slammed the selectors over the absence of veteran fast bowler Mohammad Shami from the squad for the T20 World Cup. Madan Lal said that I do not understand why a match winner bowler like Shami has not been included in the T20 World Cup team . Shami could prove more lethal in Australia's conditions. He is a bowler who can take wickets in the first three overs. The 32-year-old Shami played an important role in making the team the champion in the very first season by taking 20 wickets in 16 matches for Gujarat Titans in the IPL.

Madan Lal added that a strong bowling unit is essential if the tournament is to be won. Even if the team scores 180 , if they don't have good bowlers, they may lose that match too. India has included three spinners in the squad for the T20 World Cup to be played in Australia. I don't think spinners get much help there. They may be effective for a match or a day , but a unit of aggressive fast bowlers is needed for the entire tournament.

Madan Lal added that the comeback of Bumrah and Harshal is welcome. His fitness will be monitored in the upcoming tournaments. Arshdeep is learning. Bhuvneshwar is also in the team. He needs to include Shami as well. He is also experienced and can wreak havoc on the Australian pitch.

Stating that India should take a lesson from Sri Lanka, Madan Lal added that they lost wickets early in the Asia Cup final against Pakistan. However, after that he made a strong comeback with a fighting mood. After scoring well, he finally emerged as the winner. The batsmen's form is not a cause for concern for India. Kohli has acquired a unique rhythm. Rohit has also shown form. I am not worried about India's batting.
