Kabaddi: Gujarat's men's team was eliminated after losing to Uttar Pradesh

In the ongoing Kabaddi event at Transstadia in Ahmedabad as part of the National Games, Gujarat's men's team was knocked out by losing 31-26 to Uttar Pradesh in the final and decisive match. It was a do or die battle for Gujarat. In which, despite the great performance of the players, the team had to face defeat by only five points. Gujarat women's kabaddi team also lost their third match in a row.

In the final and decisive Group-B match between Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh won 21-9 with an aggressive display in the first half. Gujarat performed well in the second half and scored 17 points. While Uttar Pradesh could score only 10 points in the second half , Gujarat lost.

Haryana entered the semi-finals as the top team winning all their matches and Uttar Pradesh as the second ranked team with two wins. While from Group-A Services won all three matches and Maharashtra won two matches to enter the final four. Now Haryana and Maharashtra as well as Uttar Pradesh and Services will meet in the semi-finals.

In the women's Kabaddi event, Gujarat lost to Haryana 16-47 in their third and final match. Gujarat had earlier also lost against Maharashtra and Bihar. From Group-A, Maharashtra trio and Himachal entered the semifinals of women's kabaddi by winning two matches. While from Group-B, Haryana won three matches and Tamil Nadu entered the final four by winning two matches.
