Five gold medals will be at stake tomorrow in the ongoing table tennis event in Surat as part of the National Games. The men's and women's singles as well as the men's , women's and mixed doubles gold medal winners will be decided tomorrow. Gujarat's Manush Shah and Kritwika Sinha Roy entered the mixed doubles final.
While the pair of Harmeet Desai and Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah and Ishan Hingorani lost in the men's doubles semi-finals, they had to settle for a bronze medal. In men's singles, Gujarat's international stars Harmeet Desai and Manush Shah entered the semi-finals after winning their respective matches. India's top table tennis star Anchat Sharath Kamal had to withdraw due to a back injury.
The duo of Manush Shah and Kritwika Sinha Roy qualified for the final after defeating West Bengal's pair of Anirban Ghosh and Mouma Das 3-2 in the semi-finals. Now they will face Telangana.
In men's doubles, both Gujarat pairs were defeated by West Bengal pairs. Now two pairs of West Bengal will meet in the final. While in women's doubles, the final match will be played between West Bengal and Karnataka. Gujarat's Kritwika Sinha-Roy and Frenaz Chipiya lost in the quarter-finals to Maharashtra's Diya Chitale and Swastika Ghosh.
Gujarat's Harmeet Desai defeated Maharashtra's Deepit Patil 4-0 and Gujarat's Manush Shah defeated Telangana's Fidel 4-2 in the men's singles quarter. G. Sathian won 4-1 against Gujarat's Manav Thakkar. He was trailing 2-1 when Sharath Kamal withdrew injured in the match against Haryana's Soumya Jeet Ghosh. Now Sathiyan and Harmeet will clash. When Manush will face Soumyajit.
Gujarat's Kritwika Sinha Roy was knocked out in the women's singles quarter-finals, losing 2-4 to Delhi's Manika Batra. West Bengal's Sutirtha Mukherjee , Maharashtra's Diya Chitale and Telangana's Srija Akula made it to the final four.
