When the Indian football team was present in the stadium, more than one lakh local spectators shouted hooray. Even before the match started, they were not ready to honor our national anthem.

When the ball came to any Indian player, there was so much noise that even the referee's voice could not be heard. However, the Indian football team gave a great performance and defeated the South Korean team 2-1. were considered more favorites for the win. Indian football players who played the entire match in Adhura also had fitness problems.
Goalkeeper Thangaraj got flu. A player named Triloksinh was suffering from excruciating pain as his toe nail was pulled out. Jarnail Singh suffered a head wound which started to bleed as the game progressed. Despite this situation, he refused to leave the match. Because there was no rule at that time to replace a player, if he went out, there would be a loss of one player
Hence, it was difficult for India to win. However, Indian football history experts say that this was the last success for India, after which the Indian football team could not make a notable appearance. Even though Bhaichang Bhutia gained popularity as the poster boy of football in the country and abroad, the football players as a good team are yet to perform well.
