Ireland will have to participate in the qualifying tournament
Even if Ireland beat Bangladesh in the ODI series now, they will not be able to overtake South Africa for eighth place in the Super League points table. Ireland would finish the series in 9th place. Ireland will have to participate in a qualifying tournament in Zimbabwe from June 18 to July 9, which will also feature experienced teams like the West Indies and Sri Lanka. South Africa coach Rob Walter said that we are very happy to qualify directly as we will not have to participate in the qualifying tournament. He further said that participating in the qualifiers would have also benefited us as we have played very few series. South Africa started the year in 11th place in the Super League table. He was defeated in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Africa had to rely on the Ireland and Bangladesh series
The South Africa series against Australia was due to be played in January 2023 but at that time it wanted its top cricketers to be available for the SA T20 league that was to start in the country. South Africa had their best chance of qualifying for the World Cup with wins over England and the Netherlands. This led the team to the eighth position in the table. However, he had to rely on the results of the Ireland and Bangladesh ODI series.
